I wrote a couple of articles on what I call [heirloom computing](https://thedorkweb.substack.com/p/more-on-heirloom-computing) which is very much about a system [designed for longevity and failure](https://thedorkweb.substack.com/p/the-100-year-computer) regardless of what's around it. I haven't had as much time to spend on it as I'd like, but I'm currently in the process of porting the existing prototype to STM32 as there'll be more in landfill than ESP32s. There's also [Computing Within Limits](https://computingwithinlimits.org/2021/), [Branch Magazine](https://branch.climateaction.tech/) and [Frugal Computing](https://wimvanderbauwhede.github.io/articles/frugal-computing/). I dislike Branch, it feels a lot like greenwashing to me but you might find some good ideas in there.
